The 2 A.M. Support Emergency That Made Us Build Eusate
It's 2 a.m. somewhere in Lagos, Nairobi, or Manila, and a customer's payment has failed.
Their money is stuck somewhere between their bank and an app, and they want answers now, not at 9 a.m. when a support team logs back in. They don't care that it's the middle of the night. They care that their money is gone and nobody is responding.
That scene isn't rare. It's Tuesday, every week, for thousands of businesses across emerging markets. We just noticed something the rest of the industry hadn't: nobody was building the tool to actually fix it.
The Problem Wasn't One Company's Support Team. It Was the Whole Category.
We didn't stumble into this by running a business and getting burned by our own support inbox. We looked at the AI customer support market from the outside; as founders, as builders, and saw a gap that was hiding in plain sight.
Here's what the category kept missing: across Nigeria, wider Africa, LATAM, and South Asia, customers don't email businesses. They don't open tickets. They message on WhatsApp, Discord, start a live chat, or even send an email at every hour, expecting a real answer immediately. That's not a niche behavior. It's how commerce actually happens in these markets.
And yet every major AI support platform we looked at treated WhatsApp as an afterthought:
- Intercom, Zendesk, and the enterprise players were built widget-first, for chat bubbles on websites, with WhatsApp bolted on as a checkbox integration.
- Cheap chatbots deflected questions instead of resolving them. A frustrated customer bouncing off a scripted bot at 2 a.m. is worse than no bot at all.
- Self-hosted tools like Chatwoot demanded engineering time most early-stage teams in these markets simply didn't have.
The category had proven the demand for AI support. Intercom's Fin alone passed $100 million in ARR resolving roughly a million issues a week. But every one of those platforms was built for a different customer than the ones drowning in WhatsApp conversations every night. Nobody credible was serving the businesses actually living this problem.
What the Market Actually Needed
Looking at the gap, the requirements were obvious:
- Resolve conversations end-to-end, not just answer FAQs and punt everything else to a human.
- Live where customers already were not bolted on as an afterthought.
- Hand off intelligently when it hits the edge of its knowledge, with full context, not a blank slate for the human picking it up.
- Cost a predictable amount, not spike every time a business had a busy month.
The AI customer support market, a category worth roughly $15 billion in 2026, had already proven the demand and the technology. What it hadn't proven was a platform built for founders and support teams in emerging markets: businesses with dollar-sensitive budgets, WhatsApp-first customers, and none of the enterprise procurement runway that Intercom or Zendesk's biggest accounts have.
So we decided to build it.
Founders Building for the Segments the Category King Ignores
Eusate exists because we identified a specific, unclaimed position in a fast-growing category: deep AI resolution, flat predictable pricing, a full support stack, and WhatsApp and voice built in from day one, not bolted on later.
We built Sate, an AI agent that actually resolves conversations, not just deflects them, across WhatsApp, live chat, email, and Discord. It learns from your existing documentation instantly, reads customer context and temperament, and hands off to a human the moment it's genuinely stuck, without losing the thread of the conversation.
We built it flat-priced, because we watched an entire category of businesses get burned by bills that grow every time the AI succeeds.
We built it in Akure, Nigeria, because the businesses living this exact problem: fintechs, logistics companies, marketplaces, deserved a platform built by people who understood their market, not a checkbox feature inside someone else's roadmap.
This Is Still Day One
Eusate isn't trying to be the biggest AI customer support platform in the world. We're trying to occupy the position nobody else credibly holds: deep AI resolution, flat pricing, a full support stack, built for the channels that customers in emerging markets actually use.
If your business has its own version of that 2 a.m. moment, a support inbox on fire, a customer who won't wait until morning, a tool that wasn't built for how your customers actually communicate, that's exactly the gap we built Eusate to close.
